Grado SR-80i Headphones.
Built on the same features as the Grado SR60i, but utilizes a 4 conductor connecting cable and larger ear cushions, the result of which gives a more open stage. The Grado SR80i provides an improved bass resonance, which enhances the overall detail. John Grado says he strove for the best sounding phones for the money, and with the glowing reviews the Grado SR80's have received, who can argue.

'NEW SR80I'S ARE WONDERFUL!' |
|
| Strengths: |
Fantastic sound over the whole spectrum. Perfect balance with all kinds of music, nothing overdone. Really comfortable. Wonderful value. |
| Weaknesses: |
Too easy to twist the earphone cables, but that's a very minor gripe. |
| Overall: |
I've no experience of the original SR80's, so I can't say if these new SR80i's are 'improved' as Grado claim them to be. Although it says SR80 on the box, they're quite clearly the new SR80i's - with all-over comfortable pads and larger earphone chambers. My CD collection has been revived by these wonders. |

| Strengths: |
Bass, Clarity, Superior Sound quality |
| Weaknesses: |
Leak Noise Not the strongest build! (though mine aren't broke!!) |
| Overall: |
I've had my SR80's for approx 2 months and absolutely love them.
Yes after 3 hours they hurt (show me headphones that don't) Yes at volume they leak more noise than RBS leak money. Yes the build quality could be better. (though saying that if you treat yours with love then there should be no problems) However after all said and done you will not regret getting these cans. Sit in a nice quiet room and crank them up whilst listening to your fav tunes and you WILL NOT be disappointed. Bass is just right for me, not toooo deep nor too weak. Listening to Dire Straits (your latest trick) You can hear every string Mark Knopfler plucks and each note starts & ends with such crispness. Switch to Nickelback (Today was your last day) and it's like being in the recording studio.........
Anyway I hope this helps you with your decision.. |
