QED SS50 5 Way Transmatch Speaker Switch.
Enables connection and switching of up to five pairs of speakers from a stereo amplifier.
Unlike cheaper imitations, all QED units use the highest quality Silver-plated switch contacts; this ensures superb signal integrity.
The curved anodised Aluminium fascias and precision moulded buttons of QED’s updated switching accessories, give this new range a very contemporary look – with excellent ‘shelf’ appeal. Loudspeakers, line-level inputs and tape loops are all catered for, with the SS50 model even offering impedance matching for safe switching of up to five pairs of speakers.

• Unique impedance matching design.
• ‘A’ pair switching direct for best sound quality. ‘B1’ to ‘B4’ Transmatch converts a net 2 ohms load back to 8 ohms for safe amplifier operation. Impedance loading with all pairs selected – 4 ohms (using five pairs of 8 ohm speakers.
• Power rating: 60 Watts RMS. Electronic overload protected.

Easy to use, nice large terminals to take large gauge loudspeaker cables, clearly labelled terminals. |

It fell over when I was wiring in the cables. To my surprise this gentle drop scuffed the silver buttons on the front. A more scuff resistant finish would be good. Also most people want to know which rooms are controlled by which buttons. (certainly my wife does). So the ability to label the buttons would be useful. A bit expensive. |
