Q Acoustic 1030i Compact Floorstanding Speakers.

The elegant appearance of this compact, floor-standing loudspeaker is enhanced by an integral aluminium plinth, featuring ‘top configurable’ floor spikes for precise, easy adjustment. The class-leading sound quality from its long throw, 165mm bass driver and 25mm polyester weave tweeter can be further optimised by adding sand to the special compartment built into the base of the cabinet.

'GREAT HOME CINEMA SPEAKER - GOOD ALL ROUNDER'

Strengths:

Well built compact floor standing speaker with an excellent range of sound for home movies and a reasonable music speaker. Good stable floor stand.

Weaknesses:

Hard to think of any. Mainly niggles, first off is the base is about 1cm wider than the speaker dimensions quoted in the specs, remember this when measuring up.

Overall:

These are monster speakers, they're solidly built and don't vibrate even at high volume. They weigh in at 15Kg and if that's not enough they even include a built in sand trap in the base to further stabilise them. (Unnecessary in my opinion). I have tried these with music and video. Of the range these offer the best music (CD) reproduction, not upto the standard offered by dedicated audio speakers but good enough for casual listening. For video they're simply awesome.
