Merlin Chopin Classic Stereo Interconnect

Merlin Chopin Classic Stereo Interconnect.

The Classic version of the Multi Award winning Interconnect consisting of 6 x HCT & IRC Copper Conductors. The Chopin Classic interconnect is the first interconnect in the range to incorpatare our propriatory NAS passive filter treatment to reduce unwanted RF & EM interference.

NAS is designed to combat the detrimental effects of RF and EMF interference, resulting in superior detail and sound staging whilst removing the hard edge from music (2nd harmonic distortion).

What Hi-fi? 5-star review as well as winning Best Buy Interconnect in 2003,2004,2005 in the What Hi-fi? Awards.

They said ... "if your budget or midrange system needs a kick up the posterior, then invest in this interconnect. It allows for a clean & open delivery that excites & invigorates & is adept at soothing the senses with it's sweet & subtle high frequencies. The Chopin will give your CD collection a new lease of life."

  'EXCEPTIONAL CLARITY'
Strengths: Exceptional clarity Smooth sounding Good midrange Good rhythm Good musicality
Weaknesses: Questionable bass performance.
Overall: This is an exceptionally clear sounding interconnect, which is only let down by a very questionable bass performance (maybe it just needs a long time to 'burn-in'). I used this as a replacement for the Van Den Hul D102 MKIII. The Chopin is much clearer sounding, but lacks the exceptionally good bass performance of the D102 and is more laid back sounding (good for Jazz/Acoustic not so good for rock). In an ideal world there would be a interconnect at this price that combined the bass performance of the D102 with the midrange clarity and extended highs of the Chopin.
